This 12-day bush and beach vacation takes you from South Africa’s Sabi Sands Reserve to Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. Start with a safari at Exeter River Lodge in Sabi Sands to see the Big 5. After seeing the South African wilderness, stay at the elegant Peech Hotel in Johannesburg.
Fly into Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve and then to Exeter Private Game Lodge. Search for the Big 5 and other classic plains game on morning, afternoon, and evening game drives. Exeter River Lodge is in some of Africa’s best game-viewing area and is noted for leopard sightings. Rangers can travel off-road, so be prepared for up-close photo possibilities, especially on twilight drives.
Then fly to Mauritius to relax on white sand beaches, scuba dive in the crystal-clear Indian Ocean, and enjoy life at LUX Le Morne, a stunning beachfront hotel on the Morne peninsula. Enjoy this destination for the next six days. Relax on the 600m/2000ft white sand beach, float in one of four pools, or snorkel in the Indian Ocean. Windsurfing, sea kayaking, water skiing, and scuba diving are available at the hotel. Ride a glass-bottom boat, speedboat, or travel to the LUX Me Spa for hammam, sauna, or Vichy shower treatments. Beach volleyball, tennis, and mini golf are available on land, and 18-hole championship courses are nearby. Kids’ and Teens’ Club offers music, dance, face painting, and mosaic making. LUX Le Morne also features three restaurants serving Mauritian, Mediterranean, and Thai food, and a coffee shop.
