Welcome to Zimbabwe. On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, guests are met by a Destination Africa representative and transferred to Batonka Guest Lodge.

et in lush gardens, Batonka Guest Lodge offers a peaceful and comfortable base close to Victoria Falls. After check-in, guests have time to refresh and settle in before the first experience of the journey.

In the late afternoon, guests depart on a sundowner cruise along the Zambezi River. This is a gentle introduction to the destination, with opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants along the riverbanks, and abundant birdlife as the sun sets over the water.

Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning “The Smoke That Thunders”, the falls are a powerful and memorable highlight of any Southern Africa journey.

During a guided tour, guests walk through the rainforest and stop at several viewpoints overlooking the falls. The experience includes insight into the geology, history, local stories, and unique rainforest ecosystem surrounding Victoria Falls.

The rest of the day is at leisure. Optional activities can be arranged at an additional cost, including helicopter flights, village visits, spa treatments, bungee jumping, or other Victoria Falls experiences.

After an early breakfast, guests depart for Botswana for a full-day Chobe National Park safari experience.

Chobe is known for its high wildlife density and large elephant population. The day includes a morning game drive in open safari vehicles, with possible sightings of elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope, and, with luck, leopard.

Lunch is enjoyed at a local lodge or restaurant before guests continue with an afternoon boat safari on the Chobe River. This water-based safari offers a different perspective, with close-up sightings often including hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, birdlife, and elephants along or in the river.

Guests return to Victoria Falls in the late afternoon.
