12 Days

Entebbe is the perfect place to start your Uganda safari. Enjoy the beaches of Africa’s largest lake and see the lively marketplaces. Witnessing the mighty falls is the highlight of a safari to Murchison Falls National Park. On a 3-hour morning boat ride, you’ll see the Victoria Nile’s 43-meter-high cascade.

During game drives, you’ll experience the various plants and fauna in woodlands, savannahs, and riverine forests, including the endangered shoebill stork.

Trip Highlights

Uganda

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park’s waterfall and fauna are famous. We get to hunt elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hartebeest, and oribi after breakfast. Murchison Falls is a must-see in the conservation area. The best view of the falls is from a cheese and wine cruise.

Kibale Forest National Park connects a 180-kilometer wildlife corridor with Queen Elizabeth National Park and is home to around 1,000 habituated chimpanzees and other primate species. You’ll walk through Bigodi Swamp to see rare birds.

Uganda

Ishasha Sector

The park has rainforests, wetlands, crater lakes, and a verdant savannah with 100 mammal species and 600 bird species. In the Ishasha sector, seek for tree-climbing lions.

Day 7 will be one of the highlights of your trip as you trek with chimpanzees through the Kalinzu Forest.  Many of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas live in Bwindi Forest National Park, where they eat tree roots, leaves, and fruits. Bwindi gorilla trekking is amazing. You can also weave baskets with Buhoma ladies and learn about their culture.

Uganda

Lake Mburo

The park has swamp-fringed lakes and 20% wetlands. Lake Mburo, part of a 50 km-long wetland system linked by a swamp, is home to 350 bird species and zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, and reedbuck.

Any Uganda safari must have a photo at the Equator. Stand at 0 degrees latitude, halfway between the North and South poles.
