23 Days

A Cape Town and Garden Route golf tour combines world-class courses with South Africa’s most scenic regions. This tailor-made journey moves from coastal St Francis Bay through the Garden Route to Cape Town, balancing play, travel time, and overall experience.

Rounds include leading courses such as Fancourt Golf Estate, Pinnacle Point Golf Club, Pearl Valley Golf Estate, and Simola Golf and Country Estate. Each is selected for both quality and location within the route.

The journey follows a structured Garden Route flow through Knysna, George, and Mossel Bay, with realistic drive times and well-paced transitions. A stay at Gondwana Game Reserve adds a malaria-free safari component.

In the Cape Winelands and Cape Town, wine estates, Table Mountain, and the V&A Waterfront round out the experience.

This itinerary is fully customisable, designed for travel advisors seeking a flexible, high-value South Africa golf itinerary.

Trip Highlights

Cape Town

Accommodation: St Francis Bay Lodge | Days 1–3: St Francis Bay

Stay at St Francis Golf Lodge, a relaxed coastal retreat positioned directly on the fairways of the iconic St Francis Links. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this championship links course is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s top golfing experiences.

The lodge offers a comfortable and convenient base, with rooms located just steps from the course. Its position places you within easy reach of the 1st and 10th tees, as well as the clubhouse, allowing for a seamless start to your golf journey.

St Francis Bay itself is known for its beaches, canals, and laid-back atmosphere. It sets the tone for the itinerary, offering space to settle in before the pace builds along the Garden Route.

Guests enjoy temporary membership access to the course, with the flexibility to play from early morning through to late afternoon. For added variety, St Francis Bay Golf Club provides an alternative round nearby.

Knysna

Accommodation: Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa | Days 4–7: Knysna

Stay at Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa, a distinctive property set within a restored power station on the edge of the Knysna Lagoon. The hotel blends industrial heritage with modern design, creating a well-located base for your Garden Route stay. After a day on the course, unwind with spa treatments or enjoy relaxed dining overlooking the water.

Knysna is known for its lagoon, indigenous forests, and creative energy, offering a range of experiences during downtime. Golf in this region centres around Simola Golf and Country Estate, a course set high above the town with sweeping views across the Outeniqua Mountains and lagoon. The layout combines elevation changes with technical play, rewarding precision while delivering a visually engaging round.

Pezula Golf

George

George combines coastal charm with championship golf, offering a well-positioned base close to some of the region’s leading courses.

On day 8, tee off at Pezula Golf Estate, known for its dramatic ocean views and beautifully maintained fairways set above the coastline.

Days 9 and 10 are focused on Fancourt Golf Estate, one of South Africa’s premier golf destinations. Play the Montagu course, recognised for its classic parkland design, followed by the more demanding Outeniqua course, where elevation changes and strategic bunkering shape the game.

Day 11 is left open, giving you the flexibility to relax or add an optional round, depending on your preferred pace.

Gondwna

Gondwana Game Reserve

Accommodation: Gondwana Game Reserve Lodge | Days 12–13: Gondwana Game Reserve

Step away from the fairways and into the wild at Gondwana Game Reserve, a private luxury sanctuary nestled in the rugged landscapes of the Western Cape. Your accommodation combines rustic elegance with modern comfort, offering a peaceful retreat after thrilling game drives.

Over two days, immerse yourself in expertly guided safaris to spot the Big Five and other indigenous wildlife. Between excursions, unwind with gourmet meals and spa treatments that complement the raw beauty surrounding you. This is the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.

Pinnacle-point-Golf

Mossel Bay

Accommodation: Mossel Bay Hotel or Boutique Lodge | Days 14–16: Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay welcomes you with its laid-back coastal vibe and rich history, perfectly complemented by rounds at two outstanding golf courses. Begin with a scenic game at Pinnacle Point, where dramatic cliffside holes provide both challenge and stunning ocean views.

Continue golfing at Mossel Bay Golf Club, a classic course featuring mature trees and rolling fairways. Day 16 offers a leisure day to soak in the sun on pristine beaches, explore historic sites, or simply relax at your comfortable coastal accommodation. Mossel Bay is where golf meets coastal tranquility.

Stellenbosch

Accommodation: Cape Winelands Estate or Luxury Guesthouse | Days 17–20: Stellenbosch

The final stages of the journey introduce a different pace, with a focus on wine, culture, and city experiences. In Stellenbosch and the surrounding Cape Winelands, wine tastings and estate visits provide a relaxed contrast to the structured golf days.

In Cape Town, key highlights include access to Table Mountain and time at the V&A Waterfront. These experiences are flexible and can be adjusted based on client interests. For non-golfing travellers, additional options such as wellness, spa treatments, and curated dining experiences can be integrated without disrupting the core itinerary.
