From the stunning beaches of Wilderness to the spectacular views from Knysna Heads, it is an unbelievable experience as one travels along the 300-kilometre stretch of road between Mossel Bay and Storms River. This is where one can walk across the famous suspension bridge with the waves of the Indian Ocean rolling and crashing underneath you.
Looking for some adventure? Then you have to do a canopy tour in the Tsitsikamma forest and if you seek the serenity of the water, there is kayaking on the Keurbooms River. To get the adrenaline properly pumping, you can bungee jump off the Bloukrans Bridge, the world’s highest commercial bungee jump.
No visit to the Garden Route is complete without a stop in Plettenberg Bay, where whales, dolphins, and even great white sharks put on a show for those with a taste for marine adventure. Just over the Outeniqua mountains in Oudsthoorn, the ancient stalactites and stalagmites of the Cango Caves create a surreal underground wonderland.
The Garden Route is also an ideal gateway to more experiences, whether you’re looking to continue your journey into the Eastern Cape for a safari or return west to explore more of the Cape Winelands.
