Savute Safari Lodge sits in Botswana’s legendary Savute region, close to the Savute Channel and Savute Marsh. This area forms part of Chobe National Park and is known for dramatic landscapes, shifting water patterns, and exceptional wildlife encounters. It is one of Botswana’s most compelling safari regions, especially for travellers who want strong predator action and a real sense of wilderness.
The lodge has just 11 en suite chalets, including one family chalet. Each chalet opens onto a private deck and looks out over the surrounding landscape. The design keeps the experience intimate and personal, while still giving guests comfort and space. The main lodge includes indoor and outdoor lounges, multi-level viewing decks, a bar, a pool, and a photographic hide at the waterhole. A raised deck with a telescope adds another way to enjoy the setting after dark.
Safari activities focus on the rich wildlife of the Savute area. Guests head out on open 4×4 game drives across the plains, marsh, and channel landscapes. Elephants, buffalo, predators, and birdlife all feature strongly here. The region is especially known for its intense predator sightings and the second-largest summer zebra migration in Africa. This seasonal movement brings even more drama to the plains. Guests can also visit the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills, which add cultural depth to the journey.
Savute Safari Lodge suits travellers who want an intimate Botswana safari with rewarding game viewing, beautiful lodge spaces, and a landscape full of character.
