Location

Kambaku Safari Lodge is located in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve in South Africa’s Greater Kruger region. The reserve forms part of an open wildlife system where animals move freely between the Timbavati, neighbouring private reserves, and Kruger National Park.

The setting places guests in established Big Five territory, with opportunities to see lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino, as well as African wild dog, cheetah, general game, and diverse birdlife.

Families can also book the Kambaku Kubs children’s programme, which we will load separately under activities. The programme introduces younger guests to wildlife, conservation, tracking, and the African bush through age-appropriate learning and discovery.

Dining

Meals form part of the lodge’s hosted safari experience, with dining arranged around the daily game-drive schedule. The atmosphere is informal and personal, with meals served in the main lodge or outdoor areas when conditions allow.

Sustainability

Kambaku Safari Lodge operates entirely on solar power and has done so since its conversion to renewable energy. The Kambaku portfolio is also free from single-use plastic water bottles. Guests receive a reusable water bottle that can be refilled during their stay.

  • Children aged two years and younger stay free of charge
  • Children aged 11 years and younger qualify for the applicable child rate
  • Guests aged 12 years and older are charged the adult rate
  • Children aged four years and younger require a private safari vehicle
  • Guided bush walks are generally restricted to guests aged 12 years and older
  • Family room configuration and safari arrangements should be confirmed at enquiry stage
