TOUR AT A GLANCE

Explore Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, and the Kruger National Park with your taste buds. Discover the diverse and distinctive flavours of South Africa’s culinary landscape on this tour. Start in the Mother City and whet your appetite with local gin and fair-trade coffee. Additionally, we’ll take you to some of Cape Town’s most popular restaurants.

Your epic culinary journey begins with a private coffee tasting at Truth, where you’ll learn about the history of the best coffees in the world. Similarly, a private tasting at Woodstock Gin will show the unexpected ways that different gins are mixed. At the Pot Luck Club, deemed one of the trendiest spots in Cape Town, you’ll eat unique cuisine created by a renowned chef.

There are also some must-do things to do in Cape Town, such as taking the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, going to Boulders Beach in Simonstown to see the local penguin colony, and taking a tour of the V&A Waterfront.

After you’ve gotten your fill of the city’s cuisine, breathtaking scenery, and well-known sights, you’ll travel to the historic town of Franschhoek. In the “culinary capital” of South Africa, you can try farm-to-table feasts, artisan chocolate, local vintages, and some of the country’s most famous treats. And it’s all in the beautiful Cape Winelands. The next stop on your culinary tour is Franschhoek, the centre of South Africa’s culinary universe. This part of your journey starts off in traditional Cape Winelands fashion with a wine tasting at Waterkloof Wines and is followed by a chocolate and wine pairing at Waterford Estate.

Every meal is an adventure. Dinner will be served at La Petite Colombe after a three-course gourmet lunch at Grande Provence. One of the things to see in the Winelands is Babylonstoren, which has the famous Babel restaurant and gardens. Before leaving for Pierneef La Motte, you will have lunch here for a wine tasting and dinner at Le Coin Francais. Here, you will take part in a garden and wine tour.

The following “course” of your cuisine tour is a luxurious stay at Lion Sands River Lodge in the Kruger Park, which brings your vacation to a close with a traditional Big Five encounter. Your stay at Lion Sands River Lodge in Kruger Park will be a tasty way to end your trip through South Africa’s food scene. After that, your days are yours to do as you choose, bookended by early morning and late afternoon game drives looking for the Big Five. The top-notch lodging at Lion Sands River Lodge is the ideal setting to take advantage of everything a Kruger safari offers.

There are many things to look forward to, such as delicious food, beautiful swimming pools, and walks through the bush. Your dining options at Lion Sands River Lodge include the classic boma with a “twist,” the famous riverbed meals, and deck dining under the trees with a view of the Sabie River.
